Fool Me Once, Shame On You. Fool Me Twice, Shame On Me

Do you follow recommendations that haven’t worked for the past 50 years?

Do you trust your healthcare professional and their opinion on dietary recommendations?

How has that worked for you? For your children?

Are you fighting a metabolic disease like diabetes, heart disease, gout, rheumatoid arthritis? Do you have high blood pressure? Do you have fat around the midsection that refuses to leave?

Do you know the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting a different outcome.

Let’s pump the brakes people. The FDA and our government have put in place dietary recommendations for the past 50 years and this is the first time in history that the next generation will not outlive the previous generation.

Let that sink in.

We are doing such an awful job and managing cardiac disease and dysfunction by limiting fats and eating more carbs that we are quite literally killing people every day based on those recommendations.

Why hasn’t the paradigm shifted then? If the evidence is there, why are we still reinforcing and trying to prove something that doesn’t work?

Quite simply- it’s not that simple. The money runs deep in “Big Food” and it does a huge disservice to the scientific community.

Many “studies” that have come out showing that artificial sweeteners, pesticides, GMOs, and the like are all sponsored and funded by the companies that are trying to make a buck. Companies like Monsanto, Dow Chemical Company, and Syngenta.

They sway scientists to skew the results that are favorable to them so more people will buy their product. Our scientific process is being bought and losing the unbiased nature that should always be present.

Are The Foods You Eat Doing You Dirty?

So how is eating refined carbohydrates going? Are you losing the weight you want? Are you getting out of the “pre-diabetic” stage and avoiding medications? Have you been able to come off your high blood pressure medication by reducing salt and changing your “diet?” Has that brain fog lifted and you feel spry? Are all your aches and pains gone?

I am willing to bet money on every single question that you answered “no.”

I am not psychic. I know the science and I know the facts. I see the trends and I see what is happening in my patient population. The data doesn’t lie, but our FDA does.

Metabolic diseases are taking over our country, and quite frankly, becoming a global endemic. Could you imagine what our ancestors would think of our doughy centers and inability to thrive as a species?

How incapable and listless we have become.

If we want our species to continue- we need to make a drastic shift in how we approach our foods.

I have said this before and I adamantly stand by it. If it has a nutritional label- DON’T eat it!

It really doesn’t get much easier than that. By default, we will be forced to eat animal products and seasonal fruits and veggies.

Accounta-what??

This means we will become accountable for our actions and take initiative in planning meals, maybe elicit the help of intermittent fasting, and plan our day accordingly.

Seems like a lot of work, huh?

That is because we have become addicted to comfort. We each need a daily dose of fortitude and realize life is what you make out of it.

If you want an early disease that cripples you, slowly and steadily, by all means, go eat your fast foods. If you are okay with getting a heart attack and being on a slew of medications that have detrimental side effects as a result, I will not stop you.

However, if you want a quality of life, energy throughout your day, set a good example for your friends and family, live the best life you have, then focus on the marathon and not the race.

Learn what refined carbohydrates do to our bodies. Learn the negative impact on our quality of life. Learn where your food comes from. Learn how what we do with regenerative agriculture can impact future generations to come. Learn how to escape the excuse driven mindset and be okay with asking questions. Learn what your body is trying to tell you. Learn how to love yourself in the process.

This is a journey that is not for the faint of heart, but a necessity for the continued growth of our society.

We have the power to greatly reduce, if not eliminate metabolic disease. It’s a matter of hard work and perseverance that not many harbor.

Take charge of your health, because no one else is going to do it for you.

Be strong. Be brave.
