Food Prepping

The dreaded MEAL PREPPING is, admittedly, my favorite topic to discuss.

I feel many people look at doing this as a chore, or too time-consuming.

To that, I would agree, kind of.

It can feel like a chore in the beginning, especially when you start, but it evolves to so much more than that as you progress.

It becomes a lifestyle.

It becomes habitual, a part of your day, just something you do.

However else you would like to say it, it becomes a part of your routine, just like brushing your teeth or putting on your shoes.

To an untrained and novice eye, it may seem tedious but in the long run, it actually SAVES you tons of time!

It eliminates having to think of something to cook, taking the time to prepare that meal, and finally eating it.

By that time, you can sit and enjoy your meal, which reduces the chances that you have eaten something unhealthy since you were hungry in the process and started snacking before your food was made.

It’s okay, we have all been there.

By now, we have eaten some pretty unhealthy, carbohydrate-rich snacks AND then going to eat a full-blown meal.

I get it.

Life happens and the above scenario happens to literally everyone.

Prepping food eliminates the temptation to snack while your food is cooking, helps control portion sizes, and ensures a balanced meal is readily available that just needs to be heated up for people on the go!

Those are wins all around!

It’s a win, win, win!

This also helps you get rid of the excuse to grab something from a drive-thru because it’s more convenient.

That statement makes my skin crawl.

In no way, shape or form is the drive-thru an accurate representation of healthy food- or food in general!

I also understand that the whole process can be a bit unnerving and overwhelming.

It takes time to get acclimated to a new routine and it takes time to understand what works for you and your body.

Certainly, my tastes are different than the next guys and that should be taken into account when creating a personalized meal plan. Most companies throw together a list and say “here ya go.”

We all know that isn’t how to personalize or customize anything and odds are that person will say forget it and go through the drive-thru.

With proper guidance and a little bit of know-how, you can find the nutritional stance that works best for you and to slowly start incorporating a lifestyle change.

Not everyone reacts the same way to eating sweet potatoes. Some love it and some hate it. You will only know what works best for you if you invest the time and try it.

Do not be afraid of failure.

We learn from our mistakes when we fail. That is how we grow.

A wise person once said, “we must be comfortable with the uncomfortable.”

Think about what that means to you and how you can succeed in anything you put your mind to.
